Today I helped one of my dearest friends with her yard sale. It was bittersweet, I know, for her to pass on some things that were family memories. She is such a dear special person to me, as well as the godmama to our daughter. I found some things for us that will be a big help in our desire for self- sufficiency. And I will have a deeper connection to my friend as I use these items and think of her sweet and loving spirit.
A very large canning pot.
This nice big bread box. I am going to be making more of our bread, and this can easily fit about 6 loaves.
These are just for fun. My friend is a great sewist and she had several pieces of fabric and embroidery cloth. Here is one example.
And a pattern and fabric for two Amish dolls. A larger one is Sarah and her little sister Anne, pictured here.
And the thing that I am MOST excited about. Wood that will help us build our chicken coop. I have been assured by Hoodie that we WILL be constructing it next weekend. I honestly cried when he told me. We have been looking at plans and discussing it for so long that I was starting to wonder if it would ever amount to anything.
I will be on a blogging break through the remainder of Lent, and be posting again after Easter. Wishing you and your families a blessed time.
Peace,
Emmie
